They sit across from each other-
stone in mind, soft in body.

A youth walks across their path-
soft lines, contour muscles, shy walk.

These two men, eyes crumbed with age,
words coarse with force.

Her laughter, a memory to both.

A youth walks across their path
dream steps, song voice, Her laughter. The memory manifests.

The old men pause. Their mouths pink, no smile, no teeth, no curve, but a frown.
Hands wave, blunt thrusts outwards, a sign of peace.

Her memory a sheet, shrouding their souls.
Her laughter a chain, binding them all.

A youth walks across their path,
not knowing the power of Her sparrow laugh.
