IT ONLY TAKES

An unspoken answer to an unasked question

Not even a thought  , just a suggestion

Not even a kiss, just the space

Between your lips and mine.

It only takes a lifetime for a mind  to run and blood to thicken

But It doesn’t take a finish-line for you my pulse to quicken

Not even expectation , just the sensation

Between your lips and mine

It only takes a glance to go behind your eyes

Behind the grace and beauty that time one day denies

Not just desire , just the drive to be together

Between your lips and mine

It only took a fleeting glance behind to turn the wife of Lot to salt

But It only takes a little faith to see beyond the fault

Not for need or satisfaction ,just a magnet of attraction

Between your lips and mine.

It only took coincidence , you might call it fate

But it takes the whole of history a moment to create.

Not even time, just the energy of being

With your lips pressed on mine
