How do you cope
with the loss of a loved one,
a dear one,
or worse a lost one?

One day,
one hour,
one minute at a time,
at first they are each long,
like an eternity,
but time as they say,
heals all wounds,
they just leave out slowly
and never completely
because the brokenness left in the wake
of such a loss can not be repaired
in this life ever...
as emptiness fills the void
their touching you
in the past would have left

Funny, it was never appreciated
but taken for granted that you would have
another day to share
another hour to live and love
at least another minute
one last touch
but such is life once passed up
you may never pass that way again
so make the most of each moment
with your loving family and friends!

Resolve yourself to not get robbed
no more losses will you take
and come away so empty handed
live fully with each breath
making each so warm
they’re like branded
into the hearts of those
you touch
and touch you back
so much for the better!
