5.20am Heartburn
pigeon Oct 28
5.20 am heartburn
Go away come back never
The bed feels foreign without her
Funny how you forget
How it feels like to sleep alone
My chest, your head
Feels like home

She shines in the sunlight, glows under moonlight
She is there infront of me
Everytime I close my eyes

Her porcelain skin
Stood out against my dark room
A pair of gentle eyes coyly staring at me
From a sea of pillows
Our bodies fit together so well
Like long lost puzzle pieces

You might not be here tomorrow
But what matters is tonight
Tucked under my sheets like you were born to
Talking about anything into the wee hours
As if we do not have anything the next day
In your far from perfect english

She wouldn’t but she did.
She shouldn’t but she did.
She couldn’t but she did.
She is stronger, far more than I could ever be.

Your english isnt good
Mine isn’t any better
But if we could just speak with our eyes
Then I think we could talk forever.

Protector, Provider.
pigeon Oct 28
I’ll hold your torch up high
On days you feel the lowest of lows

I’ll shield your flames
From the harshest wind

I’ll offer you the crook of my arm
For you to seek solace

I’ll shine bright
Red hot radiating heat
To keep you warm

I’ll pen down comforting words on my tongue
When your mind cannot convince you otherwise

Soot.
pigeon Oct 28
Burnt out.
Only soot left.
Use it to write,
A message for me
When I hold my breath
For eternity.

Body & Mind

Your body, a sole witness of the climates of past seasons.
Your mind, a reservoir of experiences from past people.

Tangled
pigeon Jul 2019
I was a tangled earpiece cable.
When we first met, she’d always said “the morning’s better nowadays because it started with you”.
But she grew tired of untangling cables every morning.
She started to point out how much of a mess I am.
I’m confused.
I thought she had liked the puzzle that I am.
Turns out she expected me to stop being such a work.
To iron myself out.
To stop ******* up.
To look in the mirror every morning
And try my hardest to picture someone else.

pigeon Mar 2015
The cold, hard floor bears witness of the long weeks I spent alone trying to rearrange my mind,
Its like someone broke into my house and wrecked the whole place up,
I felt like the environment was against me.
I felt as though I was an alien in my own room.
