Pebble Beach
Pamela Loykowski Apr 2012
As I sit pondering, at a sight so rare.
With all kinds of pebbles, spread wall to wall there.
Not a speck of sand at all, can be seen here on a beach so rare.
The object of the climb down here, was not to fall.
As waves of white, crash to the site.

One is quite enthralled.
By the power of the might, God has given all the right.
For winds and waves so strong, to set against the pebbles throng.
The smell of salt fills the air, seeing the sights of seaweed is quite fair.
Clouds in the sky just linger over there, barely covering the mountain tops where,
Birds in flight soar below,

Oh!

But where is the eagle grand, How he flies far above the land.
The boats sit moored not far from land, all is here on Pebble Beach sand.

The Squirrel
Pamela Loykowski Apr 2012
Hither and yon the squirrel did run
Back and forth did he seek
Up and down the tree did he have fun
Chasing his friend, his tail to tweak

Up he climbed without a hitch
His friend had a nut stuck in his lip
Watch out little squirrel, you'll need a stitch
If out of that tree you happen to slip

But to no avail up he hailed
To the top of the tree
Faster and faster to catch the tail
But Alas, he did not catch his friend who sought to be free

Disappointed
Pamela Loykowski Apr 2012
Darkness settles inward, eating, chewing, ripping away at our hearts
If only we had known you would let our paths be torn apart
Did you not hear the powerful strenuous strain?
The crying of our innards as you sought only personal gain

The truth you knew, you should never have used it
To harm another and drive them down into the pit
So many lives we allowed you to hurt in your selfishness
Oh, why did we follow such horridness?

We saw a man full of energy, not a moment of faith did he lack
Our faith lay in that man, we were to blind to see we did not have his back
We did not see the one who clung on so tightly and never did he wear the crown
He used our ignorance to drive us down

The deep emotions that left us at a loss
We cannot find the oomph to carry on at any cost
We failed when we mistook you for the one
The pedestal we placed you on we wish we could have undone

She Never Knew She Could Fly
Pamela Loykowski Apr 2012
She never knew she could fly
Her obedience kept her bound
Many times she could only sigh
And never ever made a sound
She wept in silence, never allowing the tears to be seen
All kept captive by the vow
Obedient to the end was all she knew
But not Today, for today she flew
She never knew she could ever fly
Along came a bird wearing a white hue
It spoke words of encouragement for her to listen to
Close your eyes and let it go
Once bound by obedience and held captive by fear
Today she flew

To Far To Climb
Pamela Loykowski Mar 2012
Walls dark with slurry
I clamber up the sides, my life in a hurry
But down I slide, ever landing to hard to see
Never will I be free

I beat myself up every day
I cannot climb the ladder this way
They tie me down upon the ground
The shoes they wear, on me can be found

I am the doormat
The bridge for them to step up at
This work just makes me sadder
Why does it really matter

The ladder I wish to climb, is slippery you see
To succeed at life, is a mystery to me
How I wish I could live
Even if they would just give

Give a little of what they have to me
The breads crumbs, I would leave
To the next who climbs the wall
So they would not have far to fall

The Last Take Over Bid
Pamela Loykowski May 2012
Like soldiers sneaking upon the enemy
The Dandelions grew thick on the lawn
Painting a sea of yellow amongst the blades of green
Try as they might the tall, yellow stalks bent with ease
As they tried to strangle the life from the young blades
But the low lying grass pushed back
Swarming over the tall lions, pushing them down
As if they were grasshoppers not prepared for a winter storm
The grass thrived

You are Awesome
Pamela Loykowski Mar 2012
No matter the task your presence felt
Every child bowed down and knelt.
The glories of your heavenly hosts
show to us you're the most.

Praise you Father, creator of all
You always pick us up when we fall.
Your warmth and love
Surrounds us like a fitted glove.

Oh, how lost we'd be
If you had not set us free.
Chains and bonds broken down
You life us up without a frown.

Glory to you Father mine
You charge us not a fine.
When the narrow road grows wide
You leave us nowhere to hide.

Praise you Father, healer of us
You chose us without a fuss.
You did not stop at the first
Instead You gave  us all a thirst.

Your knowledge in us yearns
For the wisdom you give us to learn.
Praise you Father, God of all
You always answer us when we call.

Scrub Away
Pamela Loykowski Apr 2012
Scrub as I might, I cannot get clean
No matter how hard I rub with all my might
The detergents and cleansers cannot do it right
I am sure you know what I mean

No matter how hard I try I cannot clean my soul
My life is filled with filth I cannot rub out
Like the ***** chairs I scrubbed I didn't have the clout
To take my broken life and make it whole

All covered in a slime that won't wash away
My body inside and out will never be pure
Only through the grace of God can there be a cure
Through His love  He will show me the way

Clawing and rubbing till I am raw
No matter how  hard I try I cannot clean me off
Inside and our I am never clean enough
In wonder of it all I stand in Awe

Begone
Pamela Loykowski Apr 2012
Begone! I say to thee
Begone Satan far from me
Begone, In Jesus name, I banish you from my life
We are through
Jesus died for all my pain
You, my soul will never gain
Begone, You frightful man
For only through the blood of Christ. I can
Be free my soul, come fly with me
For Satan, you could never be
Begone. I banish you
All my foes, pain, fear, depression, all of those
I banish you from my side
Begone from me, for Jesus' way is never wide
No room for you to overthrow
No words for you to ever crow
For in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God
I give to you this farewell nod.
This was a night to remember. The words would not leave me so in my restless sleep I found the peace to get up and write them down. I slept afterwards. A release. I would love to see this one made into a video. It has a power I love and repeat it often.

Teasing Sun
Pamela Loykowski Apr 2012
I was deep in thought
the day was as grey as the road I walked
My mood was the same
from the corner of my eye it came
I thought I saw
but then was deceived
I caught what I thought was the warmth of the sun
shinning down on me
But it was only the bulb of the street light making fun
though it shone as brightly like the sun
Cutting through the gloom of rain
my spirits lifted, my heart sang
There was a hope, the rain was gone
but only a moment did it linger
Twas dashed by the realization of a pointing finger
I stood soaked to skin looking up at the light
Upset, I was misguided, it shone so bright
then down the street I walked
wishing for the day to end I talked

Battles Rang
Pamela Loykowski May 2012
And the battles rang
No silence in the heart
Hearing the anguish screams
The soul stood solid
It did not falter

And the battles rang
Around and around
Surrounded by the enemy
Not a light was in sight
The soul stood solid
It did not falter

Written in the Sand
Pamela Loykowski May 2012
It was written in the sand
As clear as a pen to paper "I wish I had a friend"
A young girl wrote it with tears on her face
As children laughed and played around her
Yet with all those children
there stood one alone
No one saw her
No one cared
As if she were invisible she walked away
Alone and friendless
My heart goes out to this child
But someday a good friend she'll find
I to have wished for a friend
When all was dark
I to have written it down
In my mind a time or two
But now as time has passed
The notes I write
Are to the lost

Destinations unknown
Pamela Loykowski Jun 2012
The road is flat
winding itself around the hills
following an unknown path
once laid out by those who came before
twisting around the green, lusheous, fruitful hills
that never seem to end
where does the road lead
when will I get there
yet we follow on
leaving dusty trails to destinations unknown

In My Fathers House
Pamela Loykowski Apr 2012
In my Fathers house I seek peace
In His house there is no shame
To hide there is no reason
There are no dark rooms
All are filled with His light
The glow is twenty-four seven

In my Fathers house I seek joy
In His house I find no sorrow
No tears shall fall upon the ground
There is no mourning
No rooms of guilt
His love is throughout

In my Fathers house I seek confidence
In His house there is no quaking
No shivering in fright
His warmth and steadfast life
Hold firm my weakness knees
His strength is my wall

In my Fathers house there is no need for walls
His steadfast love illuminates the room
His strong arms cover me like a warm blanket
His throne is the roof above my head
His robe my floor
I am safe in my Fathers house

The Other Day
Pamela Loykowski May 2012
The other day I sought you out, I found you hiding in a corner
your arms covering your head.
You looked so small hiding from me
When you heard me coming you ran away
back into the darkness of your shattered life
I call to you as I searched for you, you did not answer me
I found you hiding under a table, so small you made yourself
I saw your tears washing your face, I tried to comfort you
But you dodged my words
Back into hiding you went, deeper into the hole of darkness
Yet I did not stop my search for you
Following you from shadow to shadow
Calling for you as I pursued you
"The pain you carry is not yours alone, let me carry it for you", I cried
You hesitated for just a moment
With baited breath I waited, with a hope you would turn to me
But again you ran from me, But I noticed not as fast
I cried after you, "I know your pain"
Then I saw you yell over your shoulder
Tears streaming down your pain-covered face
"I am ashamed, I have shamed you"
I am not good enough for you, I am scared"
I responded with growing excitement, "Come let me cleanse you"
You have always been and always will be good enough
I love you so much that I gave my life for you
You stopped suddenly in your tracks, and turning around to look at me
"Why so much love for one so small?" you asked
"Because you are not small in my eyes" I replied
You ran to me with outstretched arms

I Once Lived in Shame
Pamela Loykowski Apr 2012
I once lived in shame
For I could not read
Yet a friend
Told me
To live without words
Is to live a lie
To live in shame
Is likely to die
Without the knowledge
Of the books of man and God
There is no future
For me or mine

Rest a little, Just a little
Rest for your sake for the sake of your family
Just take a step back
It doesn't have to be a big one
Just a little
A short nap, not a long sleep
A pause in the day of your life
A breath in a storm
Just a little rest is all you need to re-energize

Towards
Pamela Loykowski Mar 2012
Towards heaven we crawl
but along the way we brawl
through the dessert lost and weak
We search around week by week

For the land yet to be
Forever made for you and me
Peace at hand, a promise made
For the land forever laid

Straight from God who never quits
The light He bore, He promised it
Straight down from heaven He shall come along
the way that we are from

He died for us upon a cross
No more will we feel the loss
Of life and death you be sure
My God in heaven has found a cure

Lost
Pamela Loykowski Apr 2012
Soul is gone from within me
I am lost to his love
Lost in the darkness of my faults
It is said "I am forgiven", yet whom do I forgive
The pain of yesterday is raw inside of me this day
The memories still linger no matter how hard I shake my head
They will not leave me ever I dread
I am lost in darkness of the shadows
In the corner of the room I hide
I want to forgive
But I don't know who or why
My soul weighs heavy in my chest
It cries out to be let free from its *******
To be untied from its own sin

Darkness
Pamela Loykowski Mar 2012
Once there was darkness so deep and thick
The sight for me made me sick
No one could breathe nor see
As the light one sought could never be

So filled with sin
One could never win
The gate was closed for us
But we never made a fuss

We accepted what was our fate
Though we sought beyond the gate
What we wanted was the light
But we would not put up a fight

Though the Father reached down for us
We just walked away, some took a bus
His love we thought was not ours to take
We felt it was all a fake

Satan has us by our tale
He told us we would always fail
We never believed, we were worthy of the light
So again I say we never put up a fight

Till the day the Son came by
He told  us to hear the Father's cry
Some stopped and listened
While others walked on waving goodbye

But that day some learnt to fly

— The End —
