Hither and yon the squirrel did run
Back and forth did he seek
Up and down the tree did he have fun
Chasing his friend, his tail to tweak

Up he climbed without a hitch
His friend had a nut stuck in his lip
Watch out little squirrel, you'll need a stitch
If out of that tree you happen to slip

But to no avail up he hailed
To the top of the tree
Faster and faster to catch the tail
But Alas, he did not catch his friend who sought to be free

Scrub as I might, I cannot get clean
No matter how hard I rub with all my might
The detergents and cleansers cannot do it right
I am sure you know what I mean

No matter how hard I try I cannot clean my soul
My life is filled with filth I cannot rub out
Like the ***** chairs I scrubbed I didn't have the clout
To take my broken life and make it whole

All covered in a slime that won't wash away
My body inside and out will never be pure
Only through the grace of God can there be a cure
Through His love  He will show me the way

Clawing and rubbing till I am raw
No matter how  hard I try I cannot clean me off
Inside and our I am never clean enough
In wonder of it all I stand in Awe

Darkness settles inward, eating, chewing, ripping away at our hearts
If only we had known you would let our paths be torn apart
Did you not hear the powerful strenuous strain?
The crying of our innards as you sought only personal gain

The truth you knew, you should never have used it
To harm another and drive them down into the pit
So many lives we allowed you to hurt in your selfishness
Oh, why did we follow such horridness?

We saw a man full of energy, not a moment of faith did he lack
Our faith lay in that man, we were to blind to see we did not have his back
We did not see the one who clung on so tightly and never did he wear the crown
He used our ignorance to drive us down

The deep emotions that left us at a loss
We cannot find the oomph to carry on at any cost
We failed when we mistook you for the one
The pedestal we placed you on we wish we could have undone

In my Fathers house I seek peace
In His house there is no shame
To hide there is no reason
There are no dark rooms
All are filled with His light
The glow is twenty-four seven

In my Fathers house I seek joy
In His house I find no sorrow
No tears shall fall upon the ground
There is no mourning
No rooms of guilt
His love is throughout

In my Fathers house I seek confidence
In His house there is no quaking
No shivering in fright
His warmth and steadfast life
Hold firm my weakness knees
His strength is my wall

In my Fathers house there is no need for walls
His steadfast love illuminates the room
His strong arms cover me like a warm blanket
His throne is the roof above my head
His robe my floor
I am safe in my Fathers house

Towards heaven we crawl
but along the way we brawl
through the dessert lost and weak
We search around week by week

For the land yet to be
Forever made for you and me
Peace at hand, a promise made
For the land forever laid

Straight from God who never quits
The light He bore, He promised it
Straight down from heaven He shall come along
the way that we are from

He died for us upon a cross
No more will we feel the loss
Of life and death you be sure
My God in heaven has found a cure

Once there was darkness so deep and thick
The sight for me made me sick
No one could breathe nor see
As the light one sought could never be

So filled with sin
One could never win
The gate was closed for us
But we never made a fuss

We accepted what was our fate
Though we sought beyond the gate
What we wanted was the light
But we would not put up a fight

Though the Father reached down for us
We just walked away, some took a bus
His love we thought was not ours to take
We felt it was all a fake

Satan has us by our tale
He told us we would always fail
We never believed, we were worthy of the light
So again I say we never put up a fight

Till the day the Son came by
He told  us to hear the Father's cry
Some stopped and listened
While others walked on waving goodbye

But that day some learnt to fly

No matter the task your presence felt
Every child bowed down and knelt.
The glories of your heavenly hosts
show to us you're the most.

Praise you Father, creator of all
You always pick us up when we fall.
Your warmth and love
Surrounds us like a fitted glove.

Oh, how lost we'd be
If you had not set us free.
Chains and bonds broken down
You life us up without a frown.

Glory to you Father mine
You charge us not a fine.
When the narrow road grows wide
You leave us nowhere to hide.

Praise you Father, healer of us
You chose us without a fuss.
You did not stop at the first
Instead You gave  us all a thirst.

Your knowledge in us yearns
For the wisdom you give us to learn.
Praise you Father, God of all
You always answer us when we call.
