Winter Wonderland
Paige Shill Mar 2014
Let me tell you about this snowy wonder
The frozen wind is as loud as thunder
The winter air kisses the tips of my nose and cheeks
A cold, white blanket covers the tall mountain peaks
It gets difficult to breathe in the thin, dry air
But I haven’t reached the top, so I don’t care
Frosty mornings smell of sharp, cold ice crystals
And of the soft powder that slowly settles
Others believe it to be a dangerous place to be
But they never take a chance to see the true beauty
If they took the time to get to know this majestic place
They would be able to see her true mountain face
This is my winter wonderland
My one and only true motherland
