her secret place

If you've ever had a sadness that just won't go away... even though you may think you've won the battle - these few lines may mean a lot to you: Her Secret Place It's the space between her heart and soul, A hidden cave, a secret hole. A place where sorrow rests its head A land of sadness, fear and dread. The door is locked the keys are gone. But somehow access lingers on And trouble seeps in to the space, That shows no mercy has no grace. It shakes her like a hurricane And never leaves her quite the same. When trouble seeks her stifled grief She feels she'll never find relief. Then somehow just as in the past She locks the door... secure at LAST! And vows she'll never see the day When this great pain returns her way. But...in her heart, she knows what's real That one day soon she will feel The door has opened, in she falls And all her joys again will pause. To feel what she tries to erase But lives there in her Secret Place. (c) 2013 Susan Cook McClure
