last ship out with a hole in it

Daddy’s moon-still

came down out o’ mountain

Witch-sick in a mildew box

and was old when Daddy found it

and the other…

way your thumb

\skate

o’ver first two fingers

all scared to hold her hand

those two stories sittin’ side by side

- horror novel, all full of ******

- slip-of-a-girl poem book,

one might turn back dial far as you dare

these what gifts my Muse give me,

call me to make ‘em up

either way, bet ya’

2nd run already inking on press,

they looking for widow Stockwell

and they ****** on backlog

sweater girls at Temple, Brown

starved-up hungry for wordbones

can let themselves lap ink on

- someone go cruel long-form

- go sweet when it call to short

- can click-to when story-fever break

and all's left is what come-through-window

- sparrow-tap for grain.

- sycamore go beat itself on glass.

- somethin' once beat steady, just quit now it spent

they want put eyes on

this pen

last ship out with a hole in it

man made out of balloons

just one pin
