Abstract Mammalian

Somewhere between

The first sight of a blackboard

And the erasure

of all it contained

Somewhere between

The alphabet of identity

and no fixed abode

an unaccompanied enquiry

Sometimes restless

A childhood colic never outgrown

Sometimes composed

A symphony already written

which echos

More abstract

than mammalian

More embryonic

than complete
