Creature

There’s a creature that lives under my bed

Feeding on my dreams

Feasting on my nightmares

Relishing in my fear

It sleeps during the day

Awakens in the night

Rakes its claws through my dreams

And laughs when I cry

There’s a creature that lives in my head

Feeding on my insecurities

Feasting on my tears

Delighting in my fear

It never leaves

Twisting every thought inside

It never goes away

Until there’s nowhere left to hide
