Nursery School

On those crisp autumn mornings- I would watch her leave me. My throat tight and aching my eyes swollen. With only a rose colored kiss left behind on my hand So that somehow- In some form- I could exist in her presence at only an arm’s length away Keeping my nose attached to my tiny hand Absorbing every particle Of the sticky sweet smell of her lipstick For the endless 4 hours That we were apart.
