Time Immemorial

by M_Grant_Teague

Frozen in frivolity, Each passing moment is a wisp, A time forgotten to be missed. Yet the days pass, and the nights stretch, The joys fade, and the darkness grows. Each day, I start with a fresh pain; Each night, I end with less hope. When your bucket leaks, you collect only sand. When your spigot drips, you collect only mist. When your pipes rust, you collect only dust. When your land dies, you collect only ash.
