Forest symphony

A creek whispers secrets to the roots below

A gentle murmur threading through the trees

Bird song spills from the branches

Wild and bright as morning

While restless flies wander through shafts

of golden light

A spider’s web hangs silently between two cedar limbs

Glistening with sunlight, like threads of shattered stars

And everywhere, beneath it all

The forest keeps its symphony

And for one still moment, so do I.

For a heartbeat , I felt held in a way I can’t describe.
