“When the Dark Speaks”

What is that I see in the night?

A figure at the edge of silence.

Is something chasing me,

Or is it already inside me?

It tears me from sleep,

Rips the dream from my grip.

The walls of my mind crack,

Letting in the dark.

What is real,

And what is not,

When even my fears

Wear a familiar face?
