Autumn Leaves

The leaves are gold the air is cool

A quiet time before the school

Gets busy with its winter hum

Forever autumn softly come

The sun hangs low in the Lord's light

That fades so fast into the night

The pumpkins smile the apples fall

A sleepy season covers all and

Autumn's leaves are twirling all around

The squirrels are busy storing food

And it's a pretty sight and they are

Preparing for a solitude and the little

The birds fly south a feathered stream

A whispered promise in a dream and the

The garden sleeps a quiet bed and

With blankets brown above its head so

Forever autumn paints the ground

With colors soft and without a sound.
