What It Means To Be An Introvert

Yes, I am an introvert

But you can't put me in a box

The definitions you normally hear

Are nothing but hoax

I prefer to stay alone

But don't get confused,

I love my own company

And not a recluse

I can't force a thing -

That's not my type

I avoid anything

That's in trend or a hype

Recklessness is not my nature

That's not who I am

I withdraw from hypocrites,

People who are full of sham

I may be a performer

And prefer a stage

I may be a painter or poet

Pouring down thoughts on a page

I prefer going out

Spending time in nature

I like slow trip -

A time for leisure

I prefer intimate settings,

And avoid crowd,

I prefer soothing music,

Over sounds too loud

I love conversations

deep and thorough

I have some principles

In life that I follow

I will never ever

Stab you from behind

I have a curious

But simple enough mind

Initially, I am a bit shy

With my guards on,

But if I open up to you -

All inhibitions are gone!
