Mind walk

My mind took a walk

The usual place and time

4am as the sheets stirred

I needed tea

See it scrolls like a phone

Fluttering pages in a dusty book

Scrambled madness only I get to see

Is that cake I smell

I've walked this path before

The usual itch as my skin evaporates

A gulped swallow in my fallen world

The birds tell me to sleep

The pillow feels hard and damp

My eyes water the world

Dim becomes the light

My mind took a walk
