please mind the gap, I need to tell myself
the inbetwenness of life vibrates
mind the gap between words and deeds
wounds and deeper wounds
love and its mimicry, illusions and realities
desire and fear, seduction and commitment
seeing and believing
there is a gap between what you say and
what I understand
between what I need and the clouds
what we give and what we expect to receive
I whisper to the mirror that
the friction of becoming is a spark but
mind the gap between breath and the air
scars and the stories they tell
solitude and its hollow echo
the mask and the marrow
longing and the reach
the spark and the settling ash
knowing and being known
there is a fracture
between the map you drew and
the territory I walk
between the hunger I own and the horizon
what we promise and what we manage to sustain
please mind the psychic gap in our
design, the cellular gap in our
histories where the silent legacies
we carry weave their roots
every moment of presence is a work of quiet rebellion
to stay, to soften, to decode, to endure
to witness, to carry, to release, to brave, to return
to wait in the gravity of the blood
please mind the gap between our shadows
between the rhythm and the rupture of the tangled
please mind the temporal gap in our
pockets where the power structures
we are carrying nest in
every act of love is an act of invisible labour
to be, to receive, to translate, to understand
to feel, to hold, to touch, to ask, to reply
to listen in the silence of bones
please mind the gap between our limits
between the coherence and incoherence of the granular
continuous levels of existence sprouting into each other
mind the gap between the different depth of sight,
between the different weights of light
I tell to myself while I look for the little gaps
that need to be bridged or to become a bridge into existence
let me search for the narrow openings that need to be crossed
or to become the crossing itself but
please mind the gap between what we bridge
and what life allows to remain an abyss
