Girl

your eyes do not fool me I see your pain

the stains from your tears engraved on your face

the fake smile is driving you insane

and you are eager to vacate this place

love terrifies you more than anything

the monster under your bed is your friend

you tune out your feelings by singing

and all you feel is loneliness in the end

the words sting; especially when they're loud

you pretend there's no toxic in your heart

all your anger is stored in a dark cloud

and sings you to sleep, "til death do we part"

but nothing has ever discouraged you

even though the life you deserve is long overdue
