Black

Black in my eyes,

black in my heart—

black is the sun of me.

Black is how I breathe,

black is what I need—

black is all I see.

Black as my skin;

black from within—

black sets me free.

And never this easy.

Black are the words,

black in my soul,

black is how I fold.

Black shines on me,

black spins my world,

black is the gold.

Black are my dreams;

black are the screams—

black is what I hold.

It was mine all along.

Black be my desire,

black makes me real,

black is what I feel.

Black to the touch,

black in the deep,

black is what I seek.

Black is who I am;

black is where I’ve been—

black is how I sin.
