Seven Words

Seven Words

——————-

The sun recedes

—Illuminating pastel clouds

We have a hidden star

That comes from just seven words

A sentence blurred in years

Of cartoons, plastic dolls, and early mornings.

—Of playing your guitar.

Yet, somehow— it became ours

We say it causally,

Sometimes trading it like a smile

After a movie night—

While icecream runs down our face

Through a cracked door

as you pass by

Through sickness

Through arguments

Through nights we both abandoned

all other words to speak

Yet it is still said

As if missing one night

Would make us forget each other

I wonder if you knew..

If you knew that those words mean

The whole world

If you knew—

that saying that makes everything feel deserved

“I” was never just me.

“Love” was never just a “word.”

“You” was never just you.

“To” never stopped trying.

“Infinity” never stopped sounding impossible.

“And” never stopped being both of us.

“Beyond” never stopped growing.

The moon acends,

Pastel sky’s dissolving into

Black.

And still—

One sentence,

Seven words.

Will outlive

Us.
