Hello

The eyes of sacrifice

Stares with a vengeance

Too subtle to note down

Too much teeth

In fact, the notepads are

Always somewhat empty

There’s no possible way to

Document every “I don’t know”

The sweet treat given to

Hope distracts it

And in turn, there’s

Nothing sacred in believing

This case will soon close

It has been a full year

Of government mandated

Hope, wearing an outfit

In this living room,

The eyes of sacrifice

Leak with vibrations

That doesn’t project

In this city house,

The words of sacrifice

Are echoed and contained

Forced in a position of worship
