Echoes

A lonely shell left behind the shoreline,

resting peacefully in the sand,

echoing within

the sounds of the endless, deep blue sea.

Calling me.

Waiting for the return of the tide,

to be reclaimed and tended to,

once more,

by the lapping waves, stroking me—

bringing me home.
