Still

To see life dripping out of her Like red wine on the lips Of the woman he loved. To see their child slipping, Her belly throbbing out of time, Emptying the woman he loved. To see the promised life Never living, slim as a whisp Out of the woman he loved. To see their daughter Still and not breathing Held by the woman he loved.
