Goodbye

Soft whispers echo in my hallow mind

As we are back where we started

With our lives far from being intertwined.

I’m torn apart,

Pieces of me scattered in your trembling palms,

Like my destroyed heart.

You warmed me up when I was cold,

But now when it’s my turn I wonder;

Who am I to hold?

Hold you up when your words

Knife me with guilt

And remind me of the dying bluebirds.

I am worthless and weak

If your love and desire

And so I only have a week

To decide

Whether or not it would be best for us to say

“Goodbye”.
