Nature’s Day and Night Watch

Wings Beneath Sun and Moon

***

To watch the day workers, fly

Visions of flowers with wings

See them dance floral to floral

Soaking warm bright sunlight

Such is the life of the Butterfly.

In comes the night workers

Vibrant shades of darkness

Watch them floral to floral

Dancing in the milky moonlight

Such is the life of the Moth.

Morning fades to twilight

Nature shifts her gentle guard

One greets the golden sunrise

One wakes beneath silver stars

Together they keep Earth alive.

Notes

Gentle verses on nature’s unseen harmony, this poem follows the butterfly beneath the warmth of day and the moth beneath the glow of night. Though different in light and shadow, both play their part in the endless rhythm of life and the beauty of the natural world.
