corpse: rotting (1)

my limbs are so cold my body failing to produce body heat _yet my heart still beats_ my breaths are shallow my lungs collapsing in on themselves _yet my heart still beats_ my stomach always hurts my intestines rotting from the inside out _yet my heart still beats_ my mind is fuzzy my brain unable to function while my body fails _yet my heart still beats_ i am dead a rotting corpse of a person _yet my heart still beats_ i am dead _but i am alive_

Notes

my anxiety often makes me feel like I’m a dead body, but certain things can dispel that feeling and make me feel alive

This poem series “corpse”, is one where I talk about this feeling and the things that manage to make me feel like a real person
