Human Souls

by nathan-ere

This passion beast we ride Will never let us rest Temperate souls remind us That life is but a test Yet the youthful ear Awaits a greater sound Yearning souls remind us To hunt for the profound The deepest humans fear That our world has lost the light Patient souls remind us Everything will be alright Spend the dull human days Sifting through smoky dreams Ancient souls remind us What it all really means Our doubtful human heads Fall heavy to the earth Faithful souls remind us God’s will contain man’s worth Pale wisdom – come and go Provides a moment’s peace Watchful souls remind us Our intellect’s on lease We’re dying for love While we’re living for fear Human souls remind us We’re already here
