The Words

The words flow through me Like a river stream Passing over pebbles Leading me to my next dream Past a meadow With tall flowing grass Wind in trees At peace, at last The sun warming the top of my skin Filling me with sunshine All from within The words remind me All of life Can be full of happiness Or great strife So I'll remember at the darkest of times To be glad of what I have All that's mine While I could be complaining about life Someone is struggling for theirs I want to let them know Somebody in this world cares The words can help The words can hurt Help you feel safe Or keep you alert Words are just words But can mean so much.
