Next time, when you talk with a person (s), you talk about him or her - their praises. They will certainly listen to. Keep doing it many times. You will observe, that they listen to.

Love this, even if it is a bit sad :( My daughter suffers with selective mutism, and it can take an awful lot to get her talking. I go proper mama-bear on anyone who then chooses to not listen to her. Great little write, and we're listening.

I feel that way on social media when I expect attention from strangers on Twitter or academia.edu.  When I used to be on Facebook, I expected this attention from "friends".  But only a sincere interest in what I'm saying will attract my thoughts to others.  There is wisdom in the Prophet the Bab's instructions that each of His believers should only have 19 friends (countable on the digits on one hand).  Cheers.

i used to feel this way, and then, something happened, and people started listening- and then i felt responsible for my words, and how i said them. i totally ran out of words. sometimes i find them again. but i try, more and more, to be sure of what i'm saying- just to realize it's insufficient no matter how far i go, and no matter how well i explain it to them, in every detail, in the frostbitten recovery i still shake from, the water doesn't really look that freezing from the shore.
