The Tree

by @wordsunboxed

There's a story untold But if you're willing, It will unfold Once Upon a time A tree spoke to me: "here's a tale worth a dime Of life From a young sapling To what I am now, Where all the fruits are hanging Where the birds sing their songs Where the animals find shade, At the center of this nature is where I truly belong I give and give Without asking for anything, But nobody cares about how I live How I feel when there's a storm? Or a huge snowfall How do I keep myself warm? When the seasons change And the leaves wither, Its all a little strange I've lived through it all But knowing human's wrath, I know I shall fall I do believe that everyone On this mother earth Will face the music as one On the day of judgment When the karmic balance sets in, There shall be no disagreement You may think that the end is near, But it could be a new beginning So there's nothing to fear Sometimes I do wonder, If the idea of fate Is just lightening without thunder Maybe there will come a revolution, When in the next life I turn out to be a human."
