Dance that Doesn't End

Have you ever danced on quicksand?

My god how fast you spin

Gliding on your heels

An ever present amused grin

To do ballet on quick sand

Such a beautiful art

Rhythm disguises the sinking

Well, till you reach your heart

A gasp from two lovers

Where the trouble starts to brew

Sand compressing closer

No room for I love yous

Just sinking slowly together

Fingers clasped through all the grains

Cemented lovingly together

Or here to suffer and remain

Holding on out of love,

Or to not sink alone?
