The missing piece

by Kees

The ocean goes here So the land must be there The sun is above that The moon is on the back side of the sun The sky is all at the top half The humans are on the land By the ocean belongs the sand The animals go in there respective place It's all tying together like a shoe lace But wait Look there's a empty space in the middle I have no more puzzle pieces Did I drop it did I miss place ? I look around and I can't trace Now I'm curious In the puzzle all the animals look to the missing piece with a smile humans look at it crying tears of joy This must be something important I ask my mom i ask my dad They have no answer and it makes me sad I ask friends I ask family They have no idea what this missing piece could be I go to the store to look for more The employee says there sold out for sure I look it up on my phone everyone who has it, has a similar tone Nobody has a clue this missing puzzle piece is a mystery to the human race So I think what about the animals they see it too Suddenly I know what to do I find my dog I show him the puzzle I ask what is this missing piece? He looks at me then paws at my heart i say come on this is no time to start these games At least if you don't know give me names give me a clue please I don't know what else to do I feel like without this piece we're all like caged animals in a zoo But my dog walks away with nothing to say Now I think about that day Why did he paw at my heart he was very adamant to touch that spot I think about what this action might have taught When you see a heart what's the first think you think of ? It hit me hard like a train smashed my brain Cause I feel so dumb right now He never finished this because as soon as he figured it out he left on a journey to find the missing piece now that he knew what it was I pray he finds it for the sake of the human race
