You and Everything Else

when the rain felt heavy, and clouds were too dark to see,

come find me.

in between the moon and stars,

come find me.

in the little things I loved,

come see me.

you should know that I am not gone; I am everywhere. I left empty-handed.

if I were to choose between my pen and my book, I would choose you because you are both to me.

the book is every yesterday we shared;

the pen is the tomorrow I must leave behind.

to choose you is to keep both the memory and the hope.

but you are the words I never got to write,

and the only story I ever wanted to read.

when the quiet gets too loud,

just listen.

it won't be too hard because it's just you and everything else.
