Raindrops On The Battlefield.

by david-p-carroll

The raindrops fall all through the night The sky cold dark and grey and On scarred earth where brave men lie Each drop a gentle flow Beneath a quiet dark sky And thr rain continues to flow and No thunder's roar or might Just whispers on the ground Washing away the blood from the fight Where silence can be found And the raindrops coming to flow and A tear for what has been A balm for sorrow deep A peaceful cleansing scene While weary warriors sleep And the rain continues to flow.
