Say the Words

Unlocking the gates

to my untended Eden,

with the words

my heart waited for,

just the way

they were meant—

a passing

where I’m born,

and know

he’s the one.

Curving a promise

written on my lips,

as I slip the key

into his hand,

with pristine eyes

turning into a whisper,

for him to enter

past the garden,

and release

into my soul.
