Everyone needs encouragement — Some a little, some a lot. I give oft and freely, I dare think, introspectively, Because I am the daughter of a narcissist. He trained me early with his insist… He picked me up in his muscley arms, And did not say: “You are my little pretty,” charms, But, “Look at me and my baby!” Any encouragement I did receive From others, I found reprieve — I thank God for my angelic curly hair, That brought admirers close, far, and here and there. I give praise more oft than criticism, But I am not afraid to give truth, in love and without cynicism — You have to be bold, You have to be courageous, truth learnt old! But when given the opportunity, from God I lavish praise I hope to not hoard!
