Tower of Babel

Arctic,

from Greek “arktikos”,

means “near the bear”.

It does not refer to the polar bear,

but Ursa Major, in the northern sky.

Did the polar bear choose its home

by constellation?

Or is this God,

having fun?

Artificial,

from the Latin “artificiālis”,

literally means “made with skill”.

It no longer means something good,

but instead “fake” or “contrived".

Did artificial become artificial,

by adaptation?

Or is this God,

having fun?

Automate,

from Greek “automatos”,

means “acting of one’s own will”.

Automation doesn’t free our will,

but may eliminate it altogether.

Did we create ai,

by imitation?

Or is this God,

having fun?
