4 in the morning

Four in the morning, awake again

Words tumbling around inside my brain

How soon tomorrow, turns into today

As the sun rises slowly, over the bay

The clock it is ticking

Up on the wall

As the morning wind rustles

And makes the leaves fall

The silence of dawn

Is a wonderful thing

No traffic, no bustle

Just hear the birds sing

The mist gathers over

The valley so deep

As ordinary people

Rise from their sleep

Catching my thoughts

I sit and I write

As they flow through my pen

onto the white

A new day is here

What will it bring

I hope peace and prosperity

For all living things

Contemplating the world at four in the morning.

Unfortunately, in this world we live in, the last 2 lines will remain a dream
