Chapters

Our lives are like books,

divided into chapters.

Each one may hold a year

or more

or less,

depending.

There is a beginning

when we are young,

a middle,

and then the final stage

as we move toward

older age.

Like an artist,

or a writer,

we create each chapter

through our choices,

the people we meet,

the experiences

that shape us.

As we move forward,

we adjust our chapters,

rewrite, refine,

begin again.

Each life-book is different

unique to us,

no more or less valuable

than another.

Every experience

helps us grow,

adding to the story.

In our own quiet way,

each of us is a creator,

an artist

of our life

and our world.
