Vagabond

"Damn, I've missed the last bus home & it's tipping down

And to add insult to injury, I forgot my umbrella"

She didn't realize she'd put voice to the thoughts in her mind

A soft utterance brought her back to the here and now---

"Sister, take my umbrella, as I love dancing with the rain"

She glanced behind her and recognised pure love for the first time

He appeared to be a vagabond taking shelter 'neath a sycamore tree

Fear not, sister, for that which giveth life to me giveth life to thee...

She gingerly accepted the bright yellow umbrella with gratitude

There was something about him which changed her entire attitude...

His eyes shone like peridots illumined by the sun, gentle and kind

She asked him if the sycamore was his home, and he smiled--

"Home is where the heart is, not a location, but a felt sense of Self

Not the person you take yourself to be, I AM free

All resistance dissolved, and the rain became a Divine symphony...

She felt the hand of Grace had brought about this soul reunion

They talked & smiled, silence wasn't awkward, 'twas inner union...

He extended his rain-kissed hand, "Faith, may I have this dance?

They joyously danced with the rain, the prelude to their romance...
