Puzzle Pieces

I made an assumption Turned out to be true Over my head floated puzzle pieces of you I found out you cheated Not just once but repeated It took me months to sit and snap together all the pieces that would fit And the picture on your puzzle box display Was not of me to my dismay But of someone I've seen before Someone you've tasted and asked for more And as you groom yourself for their delight As my gut tells me "I told you so, I was right" I know I'll be the last to smile When it's their turn to put together all the pieces in that pile
