The Sound of Scarlet

I sit

In the dark

And listen

The deep notes filling me like a spiraling flood

Filling me

Almost full

The notes play, but the words rush out

Around me

Surround me

The sound

Oh peaceful but

Does not rest

I need it

I crave it

The music that keeps me here

And inspires

The feeling

I listen to it again and again, hoping to find what I'm missing

Though I know,

It isn't there.

The old me rests

And this me emerges

The song of my return

From the lost world I was in

I'm home

And I feel it

Like I've never felt before

And it's clear

Here

I want

Need

And stay.

I wish I could write the words to match

This revelation

Of sound, but

I cannot.

Yet.
