Observations

All is well, the sun is shining, and the sky is almost blue

Except for raging traffic & chimneys obscuring my view

That's when I saw them walking hand in hand

I didn't ponder on their destination

As they'd already arrived

With the language of Love flickering upon their lips

And a gentleness smiling in their eyes

Observations of two passerbys, disguised as strangers--

May their love survive the oftentimes tragedy of life's day

I sent silent well wishes, as they strolled away...

The infant school over the way has remained quiet all day

It's the end of the school term, they're on their Easter holiday...

I've missed their playtimes, when the little darlings squeal with glee

They have no problem leaving the classroom behind

Life is now, this their spontaneity doth remind...

The brownhills have fallen silent, the rush hour is over

Peace abounds, alive with nature's uncomposed symphony

Nests take repose in the welcoming limbs of the wisdom trees

Whilst the songbirds serenade Creation, oh so mellifluously...

Notes

This was lying in my drafts, written the first week of the Easter holiday

The school reopens Monday. Good for me but maybe not so good for the children..
