(Dont) Remember me

Remember me.

I’m two not one,

One you see and worry,

The other you admire but forget.

Hidden words that I hide in my poems,

To try and get you to remember me

But you don’t seem to identify

The pains that you paint

On my chalk skin.

I’m crying, pleading, begging

As I bellow:

“Remember me”

Remember how I crave silence

From the monsters in my heard.

Remember how I only go to this

When I’m about to make a terrible mistake.

Remember how I hold everything in

Only for it to come gushing out again,

An unnecessary mess on your heavy heart.

Remember how I promised this time,

To be one

Even if that means

Hiding the truth.

So I whisper to you

“Don’t remember me”

So I beg you to

Ignore my pleads.

You don’t need my pain

Along with yours

On your shattered plate.

I’ll make sure you don’t remember me

As much as I want you to.

Forget that I exist

And I will forget that I exist too.

Don’t remember me.
