Fearful

I woke with my lips beneath your fingers As you traced the outline of a kiss. You drew me closer, and then whispered Some words I can't easily dismiss. I got hooked to the moment, like a winner Engulfed by the feeling of morning bliss. Then I crawled back under the sheets, with terror Thinking that those words lead only to brokenness - to a rope led down into the dark abyss.
