I know the void

More closely than sin

We walk hand in hand

Through the thick and the thin

It’s pull so deep rooted

Since pre-natal start

Bonded in soul

Entwined with my heart

Uncommon to most

It may seem taboo

How it comforts me so

A reliable “me, and you”

Never leaving my side

Nor pushing me through

The void holds me steady

Loving me true

With welcoming arms

Gripped tight round my bones

Protecting my softness

From thrown sticks and stones

My void and me

Best friends til the end

Stiches the holes

Alone I can’t mend
