The ******

The world flashes and echoes

Swirls and rushes

In a world that doesn't listen

thoughts and words build up

a rushing river forcing its way against a dam

the only way out when things overflow,

when the world rains

the dam breaks

and the thoughts, words

flow out of grasping finger tips

desperate to keep them in

the rushing water dripping down shaking hands

flowing with ink onto paper

until it feels like the storm has ceased

but it never

ever will.

not as long as the dam stands.
