On Paper

The words being held captive on paper

Forbidden from ever flying free

Forever bound to the ink, in between the lines

These precious words are moments we hold close to our hearts

I pity those souls who can't leave their cages

The captives who watch their lives crumble

Unable to save their inevitable futures

But I know there's a key to freedom, that others took

You just have to know where to look
